| Chocolate brown in color with a creamy
texture, malty with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too
sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of
spiciness being added by the hops. |

| Alaskan Amber - Alaskan Brewing Company |
| Juneau, Alaska, USA |
| Based on a turn-of-the-century recipe used
by a gold rush era brewery, this beer was originally fermented in mine
tunnels to maintain the cold, constant temperature needed for "Alt",
referring to its cooler, slower fermentation (ales typically ferment
faster at warmer temperatures). Alt fermentation yields a remarkably
smooth and well blended beer. Richly malty and long on the palate, with
just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored "alt"
style beer notably well-balanced. |
