The West Rib Cafe and Pub is named after the one of the more difficult routes to the summit of Mount McKinley, the tallest mountain in North America at 20320 feet or 6194 meters. We are located in the heart of beautiful downtown Talkeetna, 120 road miles North of Anchorage, and home to the Denali National Park Mountaineering Office, making it the hub of all climbing activities within the park. Each year over 1200 Mountaineers travel to our town to attempt an ascent of Mt McKinley; and many of them celebrate here after their climb !!

Climbers from the world over stop into the West Rib Pub Cafe and Pub on their way to and from the great mountains that make up the mighty Alaska Range. To keep your thirst quenched, The West Rib proudly serves quality MicroBrews from around Alaska all year long. Our 'Ice Axe' ale brewed for us by Glacier Brewhouse in Anchorage is the favorite of most. Throughout the beautiful Talkeetna summers, when the sun is shining for up to 22 hours a day, we serve fine food on our outdoor patio.
